Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE) is the largest provider of PLC courses in the North East Region providing Further Education (FE) courses to school leavers and adults returning to education.
Mission
To provide a high quality, comprehensive and inclusive Further Education service to the people in Drogheda and its hinterland in co-operation with existing educational providers and industry. All students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Provision
DIFE offers a diverse range of full-time courses with 55 courses available at Level 5 and Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications across the following departments; Art, Design & Technology, Business Humanities & IT, Sports, Leisure & Tourism, Applied Science and Community & HealthCare.
There are currently 980 full time learners with an additional intake of part time learners as part of our Night School provision. An exciting new area that DIFE has implemented in the last year is industry training for local employers under the Skills to Advance initiative. This programme offers upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in lower skilled jobs in the region. It supports and benefits employees and SMEs through education and training intervention.
